I don’t often break with the admittedly rigid format of this site to offer personal greetings, but 2016 has been a different (and difficult year) for many.
I want to extend my holiday wishes to everyone who’s stopped by this humble site, anyone who’s bothered to leave a comment or a like and those of you who’ve been lingering in the shadows just watching and waiting and…
This Christmas, my wish is that we remember one another. My wish is that we remember the world around us, that we share this planet with others. Self-interest will only carry us so far, especially as the world seems to become more isolated, more cruel, more uncaring.
My wish is that we remember many of our fellow humans have a hard road to walk.
My wish is that we remember the words of Charles Dickens, who stated that “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it to anyone else.”
May we strive to lighten burdens in 2017. May we strive to love, to hold compassion dear, to uplift patience and understanding above haste and self-absorption.
And may we find a little happiness for ourselves, maybe in a darkened room as the wonders of cinema flash before our eyes once more.
Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. Thank you.
